Anaghafoam FR can be considered for suitable gap-filling and insulation applications in construction and industry. The correct use depends on the product’s documented performance and the requirements of the installation.
Gaps around door and window frames can allow air movement and reduce insulation performance.  Expanding PU foam can fill suitable gaps between frames and surrounding construction materials. Select Anaghafoam FR when its documented fire-retardant properties are relevant to the application.
Buildings contain joints, cavities and openings that may need sealing or insulation. Anaghafoam FR can help fill suitable gaps in compatible construction materials. Check the required movement capability, dimensions and installation conditions before application.
HVAC installations and other building services may leave gaps around ducts and service openings. Use the product only where its documented properties and intended application are appropriate. For penetrations through fire-rated walls or floors, use a tested and approved firestop system suitable for the complete assembly.
Industrial and commercial facilities may require gap filling and insulation around suitable panels, frames and building components. Anaghafoam FR can be considered where polyurethane foam is appropriate and the product’s fire classification meets the project requirements.
Gaps in suitable building components can affect insulation performance. Expanding foam can help reduce unwanted air movement and contribute to thermal and acoustic insulation. Actual performance depends on the assembly, gap size and installation method.
Not sure whether Anaghafoam FR suits your application?
Contact Supex with details of the substrate, gap size, operating conditions and any applicable fire-safety requirements.
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for safe and effective application.
Step 1: Prepare the surface
Remove dust, grease and loose particles from the application area. Check the technical data sheet for substrate preparation and moisture requirements.
Step 2: Wear protective equipment
Use suitable gloves, eye protection and protective clothing. Ensure adequate ventilation and follow the product’s safety data sheet.
Step 3: Shake the can
Shake the can thoroughly before use. Follow the label instructions for shaking, storage and can orientation.
Step 4: Apply the foam
Fit the supplied applicator or compatible dispensing gun, as directed. Dispense the foam carefully into the gap.
Step 5: Allow room for expansion
The foam expands after application. Do not overfill the cavity. Follow the manufacturer’s recommended fill level for the gap and application conditions.
Step 6: Allow the foam to cure
Let the foam cure before trimming or applying compatible finishing materials. Tack-free time and cutting time are not the same as full curing time.
Step 7: Finish and clean
Trim cured excess foam where appropriate. Clean tools using the recommended cleaner and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for storage and disposal.
Important: Do not assume that expanding PU foam is suitable for every fire-rated joint or penetration. Use only a documented, compatible system where certified fire resistance is required.
Choosing between fire-retardant and standard PU foam depends on your project’s requirements.
| Feature | Anaghafoam FR | Standard PU Foam |
|---|---|---|
| Fire performance | DIN 4102 B1 classification stated on the product page | Depends on the specific product |
| Gap filling | Suitable gaps and cavities | Suitable gaps and cavities |
| Thermal insulation | Yes, subject to application | Product-dependent |
| Acoustic insulation | Helps provide acoustic insulation | Product-dependent |
| Selection priority | Documented fire classification and intended use | General sealing and insulation requirements |
Standard PU foam should not be treated as equivalent to a fire-retardant product unless its documentation supports that use.
Likewise, a B1 classification alone does not establish the fire-resistance rating of an entire wall, floor or penetration assembly.

Fire-retardant polyurethane foam is formulated and tested for specified fire-performance characteristics. Its suitability depends on the product’s classification, test documentation and intended application.
The Supex product page states that Anaghafoam FR is classified as B1 under DIN 4102. Consult the latest technical documentation to confirm the classification and its scope.
The product page lists an approximate yield of 25–30 litres per 1,000 mL can. Actual yield depends on application conditions and dispensing technique.
The listed tack-free time is approximately 8–10 minutes, and the cutting time is approximately 30–40 minutes. Full curing may take longer, depending on the conditions and foam thickness.
Potential applications include suitable gaps around frames, construction joints and selected building service openings. Always check the product documentation and installation requirements.
Do not assume that a B1-rated foam is suitable for certified firestopping. Fire-rated penetrations and joints require a compatible, tested system that meets the specified fire-resistance requirements.
The product is intended for compatible construction substrates. Check the manufacturer’s technical data sheet for approved surfaces and any preparation requirements before application.
Prepare the surface, wear suitable protective equipment, shake the can and apply the foam according to the product instructions. Allow it to cure before trimming or finishing.

Filling and insulating fire-retardant gaps around window and door frames
Sealing and insulating electrical panels, ducts, and conduits to help prevent fire spread in case of electrical failure
Creating smoke and fire barriers between adjacent rooms, walls, and ceilings within buildings
Shake the can vigorously before use to ensure proper mixing.
Lightly moisten the application surface to accelerate curing and improve foam structure, adhesion, and efficiency.
Hold the can upside down and press the trigger to dispense the foam.
Since the foam expands after application, fill gaps only up to 30–50% of their volume.
Continue shaking the can during use to maintain consistent foam expansion and flow.
Remove any excess foam immediately from surrounding areas using acetone or a specialized PU foam cleaner.
Clean the gun and adapter thoroughly with PU foam cleaner after use.
Allow the foam to fully cure before trimming, sanding, or painting.
