There are many stick on wall mirrors adhesive available that might stick a mirror or glue mirror to wall but not all adhesives are suitable for use as a mirror adhesive.
Stick on wall mirrors adhesive
The reason why most adhesives are not suitable to stick mirror is because the reflective backing of the mirror is a very sensitive material. Most adhesives will attack & damage this reflective backing material. This is the reason why when trying to stick mirror to a wall or any other surface, mirror’s require special mirror adhesives. These special adhesives for mirrors are safe & they do not damage the sensitive reflective mirror backing.
Best mirror adhesive
Supex MS adhesive is the strongest mirror adhesive available. It is also safe for use & does not attack the mirror backing when trying to bond the mirror to any surface. It does not contain any solvents or isocyanates. It stays permanently flexible & is waterproof as well. This allows Supex to bond mirrors in bathrooms & outdoors as well. Supex also has high initial grab eliminating the need to put temporary supports for most applications. For even higher initial grab, use the Supex Hi Tack adhesive.
Flexibility : The problem with rigid adhesives – being brittle it becomes weak quickly. The flexibility of Supex 488 allows it to soak up vibrations as well as expansion & contraction of the item. This can happen due to change in temperature & humidity.

How to use stick on wall mirrors adhesive
Stick mirror to wall with Supex adhesive
- Clean surface
When bonding a mirror to any surface, it is very important to clean the surfaces thoroughly. The maximum strength of any adhesive or sealant will only be as strong as the weakest surface it is being applied to. If the products are being applied to a dusty surface then the bond will only be as strong as the dust that it is stuck to that surface. Making sure the surfaces are free of any dust, grease, paint or any other dirt will allow for a much stronger & longer lasting bond. Apply Supex 488 mirror adhesive
Once the surfaces are clean, apply the adhesive to one surface and push the mirror firmly but carefully to the surface. Try to cover as much surface area as possible to get the strongest bond.
- Temporary supports
Temporary supports are not required but if the mirror does start to slide down, place temporary supports until the mirror adhesive has gained green strength.
- Remove excess glue-
Wipe away any excess uncured adhesive with a thick cloth.
Uses of High strength bonding adhesives
Stick Mirror to wall
To bond mirror to wall, make sure both surfaces are thoroughly clean. Apply Supex 488 to one surface and push the mirror carefully to the wall. Temporary supports may be required to stop the mirror sliding down, until mirror adhesive has cured. Supex 488 can take 24 to 48 hours to fully cure but will grab the mirror before it’s cured. Remove any excess uncured adhesive by wiping it away with a thick cloth.
Mirror to wardrobe door fixing
To glue a mirror to a wardrobe door, make sure both surfaces are thoroughly clean. Apply Supex HP 603 to one surface and push the mirror carefully to the wardrobe door. It is advisable to take the wardrobe door off and place it horizontally before applying the adhesive and bonding the mirror to it. If the wardrobe door is vertical then temporary supports may be required until the mirror adhesive has cured. Supex MS polymer generally can take 24 to 48 hours to fully cure, but will grab the mirror before it’s cured. Remove any excess uncured adhesive by wiping it away with a thick cloth. Acetone, MEK will also help remove any uncured adhesive.
Bonding mirror to tiles
To glue a mirror to tiles, make sure both surfaces are thoroughly clean. If the mirror is going to be stuck onto a vertical surface, apply the mirror adhesive in thin vertical strips. Carefully push the mirror onto the tiles and allow the adhesive to cure. Temporary supports may be required to stop the mirror sliding down until the adhesive has cured. Remove any excess uncured adhesive by wiping it away with a thick cloth. Acetone/ MEK will also help remove any uncured adhesive.
Bonding mirror and wood
To glue a mirror to wood, make sure both surfaces are thoroughly clean before applying the adhesive. If the surface of the wood is not flat matching the surface of the mirror then cut, file down or sand the wood so that it closely matches the mirror surface where the adhesive will be applied.
Apply Supex MS polymer by Silicone gun to one surface & push the mirror carefully onto the wood. If the wood is vertical, then temporary supports may be required to stop the mirror sliding down until the adhesive for the mirror has cured. Remove any excess uncured adhesive by wiping it away with a thick cloth. Acetone/ MEK will also help remove any uncured adhesive.
Bond mirror to metal
To glue a mirror to metal, make sure both surfaces are thoroughly clean before applying the adhesive. Making sure both surfaces a clean will provide the strongest bond. Some metals might have surface oil applied which will need removing first.
Once the surfaces are clean use silicone gun to apply Supex 488 to one surface & push the mirror carefully onto the metal. If the metal is vertical, then temporary supports may be required to stop the mirror sliding down until the adhesive for the mirror has cured. Remove any excess glue by wiping it away with a thick cloth. Acetone or MEK will also help remove any uncured glue and oil from the metal.
Supex 488 can also glue mirrors inside cars as well. It can stick mirrors to many different materials inside a car, van, truck or any other vehicle.
Wing mirror adhesive
Supex HP 603 bonds wing mirror to a vehicle. Supex MS glue will bond both the mirror housing to the vehicle as well as the mirror itself to the mirror housing. Making sure both surfaces that the adhesive will be applied to are free of any dust, grease or any other dirt is vital to get a good strong long lasting bond.
Temporary supports may be required to stop the item from sliding down until the wing mirror adhesive has cured.
Sticking mirrors to stone
Supex MS polymers will successfully stick mirror to different types of stone or concrete. Before applying the adhesive, making sure both surfaces are thoroughly clean will provide the strongest bond. Brushing the stone or concrete with a fine brush like a painting brush is recommended to remove any fine dust. Temporary supports might be required to hold the mirror in place if it starts to slide down.
Hi-Grab mirror adhesive
Although the Supex High Tack adhesive will also glue mirror to wall, it is recommended to use the standard Supex 488 or HP 603. The Hi-Grab product is a very thick product & requires a lot higher pressure to push the item closely to the surface the item is being stuck to. Supex Bond All HT adhesive will provide a higher initial grab on the mirror especially on vertical surfaces.
As mirrors are weak and likely to break if the pressure applied is too high, Supex 488 will be better suited to glue mirror to wall.
