Anaerobic Adhesive and Sealant for Thread Sealing, Threadlocking and Flange Sealing. 

Supex 577 is a thread sealant used for engineering applications. Anaerobic adhesives are used for various engineering aplications including ThreadSealing, Flange Sealing, Retaining and bonding. 
Anaerobic adhesive was discovered by Loctite founder, Professor Vernon Krieble. It essentially is a methyl methacrylate monomer that cures in absence of air and presence of metal. 

A thread sealant, also known as pipe dope or a thread sealing compound, is a substance used to create a tight seal between threaded metal connections, preventing leaks of fluids or gases. It fills the gaps between the threads, acting as a lubricant and sealing agent. Thread sealants come in various forms, including tapes, pastes, and liquids, each with specific applications and strengths.

Supex 577 Engineering Sealant

Medium strength, thixotropic, general purpose thread sealant for straight-to-straight and straight-to-taper threaded fittings. Fills the space between threaded parts and seals and locks at the same time.

Designed for the locking and sealing of threaded metal pipes and fittings, this product provides an instant, low-pressure seal and won’t creep, shrink or shred. Perfect for use on stainless steel without the need for surface activation, it offers gap performance to 0.25 mm and will cure even in the presence of minor surface contaminations from cutting, lubrication, anti-corrosion and protection fluids, or cleaners containing surfactants and corrosion inhibitors
