PU Potting for Electronic Protection

SUPEX PU 1524 is developed specifically as a PU potting compound for electronic products exposed to demanding environmental conditions.

Once cured, the polyurethane potting material provides protection against moisture, dirt and other environmental elements while delivering high strength and tenacity. Its elastic, shock-absorbing nature makes it suitable where protection from physical stress is important.

Easy Processing & Flexible Curing

SUPEX PU 1524 uses a two-component system. Components A and B are mixed thoroughly before application.

The TDS specifies a 100:20 mixing ratio by weight and a working time of approximately 40 ± 20 minutes at 25°C. The compound can be cured at:

• 25°C for 24 hours, or
• 80°C for 2 hours

For best results, the mixed material should be properly blended and trapped air removed through vacuum degassing during the pot life.

Storage & Shelf Life

Store the components sealed at 10°C to 40°C.

• Part A: 1 year shelf life
• Part B: 6 months shelf life at 25°C

For potting thicknesses above 2 cm, the TDS advises against directly curing at 80°C to avoid foaming or cracking.
