SUPEX 680 – High-Strength Anaerobic Threadlocker

SUPEX 680 is a single-component, highest-strength anaerobic threadlocker designed for locking metal fasteners and preventing vibration loosening and leakage through threaded connections. It cures when confined between close-fitting metal surfaces in the absence of air.

How to Use Anaerobic threadlocker

Ensure the parts are clean, dry and free from oil and grease. Apply SUPEX 680 to the engaged threaded area, assemble the parts and allow the adhesive to cure. Wipe away excess adhesive from outside the joint.

SUPEX 680 is normally applied directly from the bottle. Dispensing systems are also available for high-volume assembly applications.

Fast & Reliable Cure

At typical test conditions, SUPEX 680 develops strength progressively:

• 15 minutes: approximately 10% of final strength
• 45 minutes: approximately 50% of final strength
• 24 hours: 100% of final strength

Cure speed depends on factors including substrate, temperature and bond gap. The maximum recommended gap for SUPEX 680 is 0.25 mm.

Temperature & Chemical Resistance

SUPEX 680 is suitable for operating temperatures from -50°C to +150°C. It also exhibits excellent resistance to many oils and solvents, including motor oil, leaded petrol, brake fluid, acetone, ethanol, propanol and water.
