You need a strong bond for insulation panels. Supex 7221 delivers it reliably. This one-part polyurethane (PUR) adhesive bonds Rockwool, honeycomb cores, metals, and more. Manufacturers in India trust it for construction, fire doors, and sandwich panels. Moreover, it cures with air moisture for tough, flexible joints. Therefore, it excels as the top rockwool adhesive and honeycomb adhesive.
First, see why this matters. Rockwool provides fire resistance and insulation. Honeycomb cores keep panels light yet strong. Weak adhesives fail under heat or vibration. However, Supex 7221 prevents that. It creates durable, high-strength bonds that last.
Supex 7221 stands out among insulation adhesives. Check these highlights:
Additionally, it offers quick curing in presses. This speeds up production.
One-part PUR adhesives like Supex 7221 outperform many options. They cure consistently without extra activators. For example, they bond porous materials well. In contrast, some glues weaken in humid or hot settings. Supex 7221 maintains strength through temperature changes.
Engineers prefer it for structural work. It reduces weight while boosting durability. Plus, its eco-friendly design fits modern regulations. As a result, it suits sustainable projects in India.
Use Supex 7221 in these key areas:
It handles porous and smooth surfaces equally well. Therefore, one adhesive covers diverse needs.
Apply it simply. Follow these steps:
Clean uncured residue with Supex Cleaner. Remove cured adhesive mechanically. Store sealed below 25°C for up to 8–9 months shelf life.
Supex 7221 is a premium one-part polyurethane (PUR) adhesive, solvent-free and low-VOC. It is the best rockwool adhesive and honeycomb adhesive in India, used for bonding Rockwool insulation slabs to metal, concrete, brick, or plaster in ETICS systems, facades, roofs, walls, and fire doors. It also excels in honeycomb panel fabrication (bonding paper/aluminum honeycomb cores to outer sheets in sandwich panels for buildings, vehicles, boats, aircraft), HVAC insulation, acoustic ceilings, and lightweight composites.
Supex 7221 provides excellent adhesion to a wide range including Rockwool, paper/aluminum honeycomb cores, metals (steel, aluminum), wood, sheet metal, panels, ceramic wool, rigid foams (polystyrene, polyurethane), thermocol, plastics, composites, glass, and laminates. It bonds both porous and smooth surfaces reliably.
It is a one-part formula—no mixing required. This makes application quick and easy compared to two-part systems.
It develops handling/initial grab strength in 10–15 minutes (fast initial tack). Full curing typically takes 1–4 hours depending on temperature, humidity, and substrate. For optimal results in production, use pressing (minimum 0.6 N/mm² for 30 minutes at 70°C). Full bond strength develops over time with moisture curing.
Apply evenly using a spatula, doctor blade, roller, or spray gun. Prepare surfaces to be clean, dry, and free of dust/grease. For non-porous substrates or low-humidity conditions, lightly mist with water (never spray directly onto bare metal—mist the opposite substrate or adhesive). Join surfaces immediately and apply uniform pressure during curing.
Coverage is approximately 100–200 g/m² (100–200 GSM), depending on substrate porosity, surface condition, and application method.
Apply between 10°C and 35°C for best results. It offers high heat and fire resistance once cured, matching Rockwool properties, and maintains performance in demanding Indian climates.
Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C in the original sealed container. Shelf life is up to 9 months from manufacturing date (best before 8–9 months). Seal tightly immediately after use to prevent moisture ingress, as it is moisture-curing. Use opened containers as soon as possible.
Yes—it is solvent-free, low-VOC, and environmentally friendly. It complies with modern regulations (REACH-like standards) and is safe for users in industrial settings like construction and panel manufacturing.
Remove uncured adhesive and residue using Supex Cleaner or a suitable solvent. Once fully cured, it can only be removed mechanically (e.g., scraping or sanding).
It offers fast grab, flexible yet strong bonds, no shrinkage, excellent moisture/chemical/vibration resistance, and high heat/fire performance. As a one-part PUR, it cures reliably without activators, outperforms many alternatives in humid/hot conditions, and supports faster production in Indian manufacturing.
Yes—it is specifically designed for fire doors (bonding Rockwool insulation) and sandwich panels (honeycomb core to sheets), providing durable, fire-resistant bonds that enhance safety and longevity.
India’s construction and insulation sectors expand quickly. Supex 7221 supports this growth with consistent quality and pan-India supply. It enhances panel safety, fire performance, and longevity. Plus, Supex offers expert guidance pan India.
Choose Supex 7221 today. It provides superior bonding for Rockwool and honeycomb applications. For the best rockwool adhesive, honeycomb adhesive, and polyurethane solution in India, this product leads the market.

General Bonding Applications
Supex Rockwool Insulation Adhesive (also known as honeycomb glue) is ideal for manufacturing sandwich elements with porous or moisture-containing surfaces such as wood. It can bond:
Wood, sheet metal, panels, Rockwool, ceramic wool, foam, thermocol, and honeycomb structures
Surfaces such as metals, laminated panels, rigid foams (polystyrene, polyurethane), and plastics
Its strong adhesion, moisture resistance, and versatility make it suitable for both construction and industrial insulation applications.
Application Temperature: 10°C to 35°C
Surface Preparation
Ensure all materials and substrates are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, and contaminants. Avoid applying the adhesive on visibly wet or damp surfaces.
Adhesive Application
Apply Supex 7221 — a one-part polyurethane honeycomb adhesive — evenly using a spatula, doctor blade, roller, or spray.
For non-porous surfaces or materials lacking sufficient humidity, introduce the required moisture using a fine water mist.
When applying adhesive and water separately, never spray water directly onto bare metal; instead, mist the opposite substrate or lightly mist the adhesive itself.
Bonding surfaces should be brought together immediately after adhesive application to ensure full contact and uniform pressure during curing, preferably using a press.
Pressing and Curing
Apply a minimum pressure of 0.6 N/mm² for 30 minutes at 70°C.
Allow a curing period of 1 to 4 hours, depending on temperature and substrate type, to achieve optimal bonding strength.
After curing, the assembly can be post-processed or coated as required.
Handling and Storage
Since Supex 7221 cures by reacting with humidity, seal containers tightly immediately after use to prevent moisture contamination.
Use opened containers as soon as possible to maintain adhesive quality.
Coverage
The material consumption depends on the substrate and surface porosity. Typical usage is 100–200 g/m² (100–200 GSM).
Cleaning
Remove uncured adhesive and residue using Supex Cleaner. Once cured, the adhesive can only be removed mechanically.
